What does it mean to hold on for too long; to hold on till you forgot the feeling of warmth? In an ode to the illogical yet human nature of remembrance the exhibition Till my hands went numb dives into the perils of longing.
Each work in the exhibition consist of a temporal material that forces constant maintenance. From materials such as milk, chocolate and water, these works would rot, dry or mould if not for a dedicated hand. This care is an allegory for the very human desire to cling onto the past, and feed our longings and desires. The exhibition embraces the flawed and often recalcitrant emotions of holding on that we keep returning to again and again. In it we intentionally participate in an exhausting loop of remembrance and care in hopes of change.
